REZIDENCIA
Cristian Estrella je na rezidencii v Divadle z Pasáže, kde skladá poslednú pieseň pre svoj nový sólový album a dokumentuje proces pre film. Pracuje tiež na vytvorení nového diela na objednávku Cities and Memory, o zvuku islandského vodopádu, pre pripravovanú kompiláciu „Music for sleep“.
EXISTENCIA
Ide o nedávnu prehliadku diel vytvorených na Slovensku, v Argentíne, Španielsku a Francúzsku v rokoch 2021, 2022 a 2023.
“Dissolved dreams in a cougar's sight”, jeho ambientný/dronový album, ktorý zložil počas svojej poslednej návštevy v Buenos Aires, pričom použil zvuky bytu ako ”spúšťač" každej zo skladieb. Zážitok na schladenie a uvoľnenie mysle. Špeciálny hosť : Milan Zvada.
Nasledovať bude aj premietnutie troch skladieb komponovaných pre Cities and Memory (globálny projekt zvukového mapovania v Oxforde). Veľryby, delfíny, arktický ľad, vtáky z prírodnej rezervácie letiska Gatwick, islandský vodopád…
Na záver predstaví skladbu „Veterný vtak na strome“, audiovizuálnu symfonickú poctu Banskej Štiavnici a jej okoliu, kde niekoľko rokov žil. Inštaláciu na prechádzku a počúvanie zvukov rôznymi spôsobmi.
O Cristianovi Estrellovi
Je to argentínsky hudobník a producent pôsobiaci na Slovensku. Bol zásadným agitátorom indie scény 90. rokov v Argentíne prostredníctvom rozhlasových relácií a emblematických publikácií ako „Wave of kool things“, argentínska pocta Pixies a Sonic Youth. V novom tisícročí bol členom Sinfoninquieta, Cexxxa, Chrosman Turba, Lucrecia Ugena, Ivana Mer band, skladá hudbu pre divadlo („Americký Cisár“, „Pastierska Symfónia“), nemé filmy a predstavenia. Vedie projekt Mira Tus Manos, s ktorým pretvára tradičný slovenský spevník na tanečný parket, a pripravuje album "The Future Sound of Slovakia". Nedávno sa vydal na elevn-city tour po Španielsku, Francúzsku a Slovensku, aby zložil piesne pre svoj ďalší sólový album a nakrútil dokument o tomto procese.

RESIDENCY
Cristian Estrella is in residency at Divadlo z Pasáže composing the last song for his new solo album, and documenting the process for a film. He is also working on the creation of a new piece commissioned by Cities and Memory, on the sound of an Icelandic waterfall, for the upcoming compilation "Music for sleep".
EXISTENCIA
Is a recentspective of works created in Slovakia, Argentina, Spain and France, during the years 2021, 2022 and 2023.
"Dissolved dreams in a cougar's sight”, his ambient/drone album composed during his last visit to Buenos Aires, using the sounds of the apartment as a trigger for each of the tracks. An experience to chill and let the mind fly. Special guest: Milan Zvada.
It will also be the time for the screening of three pieces composed for Cities and Memory (the Oxford-based global sound mapping project). Whales, dolphins, arctic ice, the birds of the Gatwick Airport nature reserve, an Icelandic waterfall…
Finally, he will present the piece “Veterný vtak na strome", an audiovisual symphonic tribute to Banská Štiavnica and its surroundings where he lived for several years. An installation to walk and listen to the sounds in different ways.
About Cristian Estrella
He is an Argentinian musician and producer based in Slovakia. He was a fundamental agitator of the indie scene of the 90s in Argentina, through radio shows and emblematic publications such as "Wave of kool things", the Argentinean homage to Pixies and Sonic Youth.
During the new millennium he was a member of Sinfoninquieta, Cexxxa, Chrosman Turba, Lucrecia Ugena, Ivana Mer band, and composes music for theatre (“Americký Cisar”, “Pastierska Symfónia”), silent films and performances. He is leading the project Mira Tus Manos with which he reimagines the traditional Slovak songbook to bring it to the dance floor, and is preparing the album "The Future Sound of Slovakia".
He recently embarked on a elevn-city tour of Spain, France and Slovakia to compose the songs for his next solo album, and to film a documentary about the process.
